![]() You don't know if you're going to get the one that painted only half of the left eye. I'd rather the box be sealed, the only problem for me with sealed, is the factory have a terrible record of painting the heads consistently, it makes inline purchases scary sometimes. I'm sure your shareholders are very pleased. BUT I now will end up needing someone to come collect the defective item, and then ship it back, thereby using twice the fuel for the delivery truck, twice the fuel for the plane to ship it to Amazon's Las Vegas return center, and then as these cases build, now we need to hire more people at Amazon's center, so there's more money spent on HR… now, Hasbro and Amazon aren't going to shoulder those costs, so as we've already seen, a $22.99 toy is now $24.99, and the environmental impact from all that back and forth fuel is probably worse than the small sheet of plastic… so… great job, Hasbro. So, I use Amazon's free return system, and ship it back. It comes, and the head has rattled off out the gaping open hole somewhere in Amazon's warehouse, so now I have a useless toy. So I'll probably be buying online for the forseeable future, but using myself as a case study here: I mean, being able to reach into the box, there's all kinds of unscrupulous things someone could do: pull out a gun or a piece, claim it's defective and ask for a refund… immoral people just wanting a gun or head or whatever for customization could just pop it off in store with no one being the wiser… it's literally going to be a mess. ![]() I too would prefer closed boxes to open, but either way, without the plastic window, I forsee a lot of added costs for Hasbro and the retailers in returns and "open box merchandise" / retailers having to discount product that's been open. And yeah, Hasbro's really not thinking this through here. I'm a germaphobe too, not to mention kind of a perfectionist when it comes to toys. I never liked the "thrill of the hunt" anyway. I'm not sure if I'll change my buying behaviour. That's a big negative that needs to be observed over time On the topic of increased on-line purchases, I'm with you. I don't understand where this seemingly unrealistic fear is coming from They are extremely secured in there and protected by the Box edges. You have Zero insight as to the environmental impact of a plastic window vs the ridiculously unlikely event of a "head rattling off". Haha, hard disagree on everything after "BUT". Crazy if you think too much about, but I don't want these boxes piling up my space. ![]() And here I go always throwing all of that away. We're currently paying for the print, the artists, product shots etc. Imagine how much cheaper transformers would become if the customer were at least given the "without (collector) box" option. Hm, but how would that thin PP film be sturdy enough? I agree, the best way to go would be the selects packaging hands down. They may as well go to hangtags and just wrap the guns and instructions around the toy with a rubber band. I don't know… I just really don't like this big hole being open like it is. That could be done at the printing factory, and while *technically* plastic, it would still be less impactful than using a PET sheet like the current boxes. Well, you know what one good option might be/ though Hasbro is probably trying to keep this "image" of being super eco-conscious, which is good, I just want to make clear, but I think that's part of why they're limiting to only paper boxes with the little rope ties again…īut they could add a thin vinyl film over the hole, like a PP coat, similar to what's appiled to the box anyway to make it shiny.
